TBS set out to announce the limited edition line of Funko Pop! Conan O’Brien dolls in a big way, while engaging super fans to sign up for a sweepstakes via social media.

Experiential marketing agency DeepLocal conceptualized delivering the Funko Pop! dolls via drone airdrops. Collaborating with them, we helped to develop a narrative structure for the video content. We provided production, handling the logistics and organization of ambushing actual Conan fans with secret drone deliveries.

We used a mix of real quadcopters modeled as Conan’s signature pompadour, aerial photography, and VFX to achieve the final product. The result was preroll teasers and long form edits for all social media outlets, in announcing a sweepstakes for the five Funko Pop! figures.
