Nintendo and the Pokémon Company wanted to develop creative concepts and bring to life a global campaign for Pokémon’s newest Nintendo Switch game, Pokémon Legends Arceus, through comedic parodies of reality shows, while using puppet versions of famous Pokémon characters.
We worked with agency Tongal, and the marketing team at Pokémon, to finalize the creative in shaping various reality show parodies. In conjunction with Dirx Puppetry studio in Toronto, we then handled the production on multiple spots for the brand. We also supervised the post, creating dozens of outputs for a global media campaign. Over five months of pre-production, a week of filming, and two months of post-production, we created the full campaign, which was then released globally alongside the game launch.
The incredible social media buzz surrounding the game led to it selling nearly 35 million units on release, with the campaign generating millions of both organic and earned impressions.
